Made it to Toronto....but
After a week of getting everything ready to leave, we left. We made it to Toronto, went to check in for the rest of our flight.....only to find out that all flights had been cancelled to Europe because of the Volcano. So here we are not really knowing when we will get there. The good thing is we don't have to be in Poland until next week....the sad thing is we were going to visit Vito's sister and her family in Germany for a few days. I do know one thing....tonight we will get much needed sleep!

I've never seen such a travel voucher. Good luck getting out and soon! You just reminded me that I STILL have not written about our travel issues on our 1st trip. I'm glad you have so much extra time.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking today, phew, at least no one is going to/from Poland for the next few days..little did I know!! I hope you are on a flight ASAP!!!
ReplyDeleteOH NO!!!! I had no idea you were scheduled to fly to Europe today. That's awful! My parents came for a visit for two weeks and are scheduled to return through London on Saturday, so we are also on needles trying to check on flights every hour.
ReplyDeleteI heard a couple of funny things on the media that might make you smile if not laugh. They asked people to comment on facebook how this Volcano eruption is impacting their lives. One comment: "I can't hang up my laundry because the ash is so heavy outside!"
A U.K. traveler stranded in D.C. was interviewed. His answer, "my boss has never heard such a strange excuse as to why I can't come back in to work on Monday - a Volcano eruption in Iceland is a new one for him."
Joking aside, I really hope your flight to Poland goes as scheduled. Sorry though that you won't get to see your friends in Germany. That really sucks.
So sorry that a volcano is keeping you from getting to meet your kids. But maybe someday it will be a good story. Hope you get out soon and safely.
